macronutrients ratio

The pie chart gives the ratio of the energy of a food or meal or menu of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

Clicking on the cut displays information on the value of selected macronutrients (protein, fat or carbohydrates) and the percentage of energy.
It should be mentioned that a balanced diet of healthy individuals is largely composed of
  • animal and plant proteins in the range of  10 and 15 % of daily energy needs, which are consumed with milk and milk products, meat, fish and cereals, potatoes and legumes;
  • fats in the range of  20 up to 35 % of the daily energy needs, especially from plant fat;
  • carbohydrates in the range of 50 and 55 % of the daily energy needs, which are mainly consumed with cereals, vegetables, potatoes and fruit.
Unhealthy individuals
Protein  needs during illness and reconvalescence, as well as in the elderly people, are

1 - 1.5 g/kg body weight/day.

Fat intake: 30 - 50 % non-protein energy sources, depending on the individual patient's tolerance for carbohydrates and fats.
